20th to 22nd Sept 2024
Scotland's Premier Mountain Bike Festival
Ballater, Royal Deeside
Thrive is a weekend of excitement and activity for anyone and everyone.

Every penny raised is invested back into the bike trails in the area and to help make mountain biking accessible to everyone.
Bikes
We have over 20 of the world's top Mountain Bike and Accessory Brands showcasing their latest products and models...

Thrive is a unique opportunity to demo ride the top MTB models back to back.

To book a demo, all the information you need is on the Demo Rides page or contact Cycle Highlands
Food and Drink
Whether you are riding, playing or watching, refuelling is key...we have a range of amazing food offerings, all provided by local Aberdeenshire businesses
For the Family
We are a family friendly event...The Clan Stunt Show, funfair, climbing wall, sender ramps, soft play, soft archery, wood carving - you name it, we have it...
The Local Environment
We love our environment and community - we will be joined by Forestry Land Scotland, Nature Scot, Police Scotland, Mountain Rescue to mention a few. You can find out what the Aberdeenshire Trail Association is working on or how you can help Aboyne Bike Park.
Parking is always an issue in Ballater. The Council have given us permission to use Monaltrie Park for free daytime parking. It will be signposted over the weekend and is only a four minute walk from the event.

Please respect our local community and help us to minimise disruption by using the park and keeping the streets clear of cars.

We have a limited number of pre-bookable spaces for overnight parking on the Monaltrie Park for self-contained motorhomes and caravans. To book, go to the Overnight Parking tab on the website - you will need your ticket to gain entry on the day.
“My bike is more than just a bike.
It's my path to fitness, mental wellbeing and quality time.”

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who played a part in delivering the best MTB festival I have had the pleasure of working.
The team delivered on every aspect allowing the event and area to leave a lasting impression on me.
So thank you everyone. We are already looking forward to Thrive 2024.

If I could I would have two Thrives a year.
I thought it was a great thing for the village as it provides something for people that aren’t just interested in biking.

Thrive is fast becoming one of the most enjoyable and important bike events. It can't be easy organising a festival that appeals to both hard-core cycling fans as well as casual observers, families and locals alike, but Thrive has pulled it off again.....we can't wait for Thrive 2024!

Sealskinz
Now the dust of Thrive Ballater has settled, Storm Babet has passed and we pull on our Sealskinz to comfort and protect us from the current cold snap ripping threw the country, Sealskinz reflect on a cracking 2nd year running of Thrive Ballater and look forward to many more festivals to come. Supporting Thrive Ballater from the beginning has been a joy, an ever growing festival of the best brands and products partnered with fun and food for all the family, Thrive Ballater is a weekend not to be missed in future years!
Live music, bicycle stunt shows, uber energetic compère, evening film shows, all make for a very lively weekend.
